William Gunter

EDDYVILLE, Ky. — William “Bill” Gunter, 81, of Eddyville died at 5:59 a.m. Sunday at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah.

Mr. Gunter was retired with 30 plus years of service as an engineer associate with the TVA Paradise Steam Plant in Greenville. He was a Korean War Army veteran and a member of Eddyville Church of Christ.

He is survived by one son, Lynn Gunter of St. Louis; one daughter, Cindy Simpson of Kuttawa; four grandchildren; one brother, A.L. Gunter Jr. of Prestonburg; one sister, Brenda Jones of Sharpe; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Mildred “Millie” Embrey Gunter; three sisters; and his parents, A.L. Gunter and Pauline Bailey Gunter.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Lakeland Funeral Home in Eddyville with Tim Alsup and Bill McCormick officiating. Burial will be in Rolling Hills Cemetery in Eddyville.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
