Local ‘Talent’ finalists join Telethon of Stars

“You’ve Got Talent” competition winner Allyson Alvey and finalists Ryan Gilchrist and Jewel Wilson Jr. will join the list of performers for the 53rd annual Telethon of Stars on Nov. 14-15 at the Luther F. Carson Four Rivers Center.
“You’ve Got Talent” winner Alvey, 17, is a junior at Heath High School. She is a cheerleader and member of Milburn Chapel Church in West Paducah. Alvey started singing at age 3 and has performed at Victims Rights Day at the Kentucky State Capitol and at the Veterans Day Parade in Paducah. Her hobbies include babysitting and volunteering at her church. She is the daughter of Denny and Lisa Alvey of Paducah.
Alvey won “You’ve Got Talent” presented by WPSD-TV in August.
Gilchrist, 19, is a history major at Murray State University. He is a graduate of Marshall County High School, where he was member of the Marshall County High School Marching Marshals. Gilchrist also played the lead role as The Cat in the Hat in “Seussical the Musical” during his senior year. Gilchrist was a finalist in “You’ve Got Talent.”
Wilson, also a finalist on “You’ve Got Talent,” is associate minister at Harrison Street Missionary Baptist Church in Paducah. Wilson uses music and praise to minister to his congregation. Wilson and his wife, Sharla, have four children.
