Beth Ann Byerly Porter, 40, of LaVergne, Tenn., formerly of Paducah, Ky. passed away Thursday, December 13, 2007, at her home.

Funeral Services for Beth Ann will be held Monday, December 17, 2007, at 11 a.m. at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with the Rev. Larry Lewis officiating. Visitation will be this afternoon from 3 until 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Calloway County.

Beth Ann was a graduate of Reidland High School, where she was a National Merit Finalist and was Valedictorian of the class of 1985. She was a graduate of Western Kentucky University, receiving a B.S. degree. Beth Ann did graduate work at Vanderbilt University and received her registered nurse degree from Aquinas School of Nursing. She was presently serving on the Board of Directors of Murci Home and was a former employee of the Murci Home. She was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include her husband, Bryan Porter; her mother, Julia Brown Byerly of Paducah; foster children, James and Jeff; two brothers, Dr. Robert E. Byerly and wife Xiaoning of Lubbock, Texas and Steve M. Byerly and wife Marion of Benton, Ky.; two nephews, Philip Byerly of Lubbock and Steven Porter of LaVernge; and two uncles, one aunt, and several cousins who were very close to Beth.

She was preceded in death by her father, Prince E. Byerly; one sister, Diana Byerly; her grandparents, Everett and Ethel Byerly, James Dell and Florence Brown.
