The recital will include opera arias and art songs by the duo as well as piano pieces by Pennington.
Pennington, a Murray native, mentored singers in the United States, Europe, Asia and South Africa as a vocal and opera coach. He taught for 25 years at Indiana University, the Boston Conservatory and Northeastern University.
Theoharis has performed in the operas "Aida," "Cavalleria Rusticana," "La Forza del Destino," "Don Carlo," "Madame Butterfly," "Carmen" and "Amahl and the Night Visitors." She debuted at Carnegie Hall in May 2000.
The recital is dedicated to Dorothy Winchester Mason, Pennington's first piano teacher.
